“A teacher can never truly teach unless he himself is learning. A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own flame.”
~Rabindranath Tagore, Indian poet and polymath

I faced a class for the first time only in Fall 2008 when I started my PhD and became a teaching assistant, but I loved every moment of interacting with students. In the five years that I have spent teaching at NJIT, I have taught different programming courses to students. I started with C++, then moved on to Java and finally settled on Python. Later, at Lake Forest College I got the chance to teach high level courses like Machine Learning and Computer Vision. I believe that teaching programming is a task which is independent of the language that is being taught, and logical and systematic thinking is the real skill that the students need to learn, not the language syntax.

I have always loved programming since my high school days and I worked for three years as a software engineer in a reputed software company before I started my Ph.D. I never attempt to conceal my enthusiasm for programming from my students, and I attempt to infuse the same enthusiasm in them.
